I couldn’t agree more. These characters are awesome! Learning to play chess on this set is going to be insanely cool. In my humble opinion, this set blows the Zelda set out of the water.

Out of curiosity, Ben, are they all hand-sculpted, or did you use the new molds that you’ve been trying out?

I sent the 1st version because at the time Nintendo got in touch with me, that was the only one I had made. This version came later, but I agree it looks better! Twilight Princess chess is in the future but it’s a much more detailed set, obviously. Just gotta hunker down and do the work!

This looks great!!! I only wonder, why didn’t you send in this one to Nintendo Power instead? In my opinion, it is the better of the two. Also, have you thought of using link in his island outfit? you know, the blue and orange thing he’s wearing at the beginning of the game… One more thing, How about a twilight princess version? The queen doesn’t HAVE to be female, it could be Zant…just saying.

I’ve always loved these little guys.

Have you thought about making their bases into some sort of puzzle-type pieces that fit together? That way, they could be displayed as one piece, or they could be separated into three separate pieces. That would go well with the concept behind the game.
